‘Together’ Star Dave Franco Says He’s “Open” To Playing Luigi Mangione In Biopic: “If It’s The Right People”

Dave Franco, who was recently seen playing himself in Seth Rogen‘s “The Studio,” has his new body horror flick “Together” (co-starring with real-life wife Alison Brie) coming to theaters this month, and surprisingly, “open” to the idea of playing Luigi Mangione when directly asked about it.

Many online had noticed that Franco has a striking resemblance to Mangione, while appearing on Andy Cohen‘s chat show Watch What Happens Live,” a fan inquired if Franco would be interested in doing a biopic about the murder suspect.

“Oh, how do I answer this. Um… no one has approached me about it yet, I’ll say that. More people in my life reached out about this exact thing than anything else that has ever happened,” Franco said of portraying Mangione in a hypothetical biopic when answering a fan question. “So let’s just say I’m open if it’s the right people, and let’s leave it at that.”

Luigi Mangione, who is alleged to have infamously shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has a pending murder trial on the horizon. He’s become a bit of a modern folk hero (with folks scrambling to put together various specials and documentaries) as the country’s anger toward the for-profit health care system in the United States has reached new levels. As corporations push for denial of care or exploding medical debt by overcharging for care to boost profits (when many Western countries have universal care, America has decided to avoid that well-established system).

There doesn’t seem to be a role to be filled, at the moment, so I don’t think Franco needs to rush into anything, and it doesn’t sound like he’s currently pursuing a project.
