Emimen Laughs At Those That Believed 'Brüno' Stunt; James Cameron Gives Sideways Diss To 'Terminator Salvation'

Eminem re: MTV Movie Awards and fake tea-bagging stunt with Brüno/ Sacha Baron Cohen: he’s basically like, you fell for it suckers! “Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I’m a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag….I’m thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going “nuts” so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it. After the ceremony, I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours.” RapRadar via Movieline]

In related news, you’ve surely heard by now that Sacha Baron Cohen is being sued over some “Brüno” stunt that has allegedly left a woman disabled and in need of a wheelchair or cane to walk around. [THR]

James Cameron has taken a sideways slap at McG’s “Terminator Salvation” during E3 this week. Discussing the possibility of “Terminator 3” before it happened, he washed his hands of the project saying there was “bad blood” between he and the producers. Still Arnold Schwarzenegger begged him to jump back on board, and he said he “heart just wasn’t in it,” but before giving Ahnhold his blessing, Cameron said, “Look, just go make the money, but promise me you will ask them for the most money that anyone has ever asked for.” Schwarzenegger said, “Really?” in response to the enormous sum Cameron advised him to ask for and the director responded, “Sure, they wouldn’t make the movie without you, that’d be stupid!” [Movieline]

Ahh, the slow descent. Noted Brazilian director Jose Padilha has gone from acclaim (“Bus 174”) to mixed reviews (the not-well received follow-up, “Elite Squad”) to directing video game adaptations for Lionsgate. Has it really gotten than bad, buddy? Maybe it’s not quite over yet, that’s his following project. Next is, “The Sigma Protocol,” an adaptation of the Robert Ludlum thriller set up at Universal. Let’s hope there’s some redemption to be found there. [Variety]

Confirmed: Sigourney Weaver is in talks to appear in Greg Mottola’s/ Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s alien road trip comedy, “Paul.” If we were Nikki Finke we would say “toldja” obnoxiously and if we were infants, we’d start a trade boycott, but we’re none of the above. [Variety]

What blows your minds more, the fact that a Stretch Armstrong movie is actually happening or the fact that powerhouse Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer (“A Beautiful Mind,” “Frost/Nixon”) is producing? 1. Why would anyone want to see this and 2. does this kill any talk of a “Plastic Man,” movie? (hopefully, yes) [Variety]

The Emma Stone–starring (she’s the redhead from “Superbad”), pseudo-“Scarlet Letter” adaptation “Easy A,” has taken on a boatload of indie talent including Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson,Stanley Tucci, Lisa Kudrow, Penn Badgley, Cam Gigandet, and Malcolm McDowell. Pretty decent cast. Maybe this is worth paying attention to. [Variety]

There’s going to be a “Beauty and the Beast” remake starring Mary-Kate Olsen, Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens who has just signed-on. [Variety]

People flipped yesterday for images of Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan on the set of Kevin Smith’s new buddy cop action comedy, “A Couple Of Dicks.” [ComingSoon]

The Tolkien family continues to sue New Line over “The Lord of The Rings” trilogy and millions they believe they’re owed. ‘LOTR’ director Peter Jackson tried this once too and wound up executive producing “The Hobbit.” Maybe there’s a big town Lincoln prize at the end of the tunnel for the Tolkien’s too.
