‘Ballerina’ Final Trailer: Ana de Armas Is An Assassin Seeking Revenge June 6 In ‘John Wick’ Spinoff

The “John Wick” franchise has quickly become quite the priority at Lionsgate as they announced a wave of new films coming in the near future, including the news that star Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski are coming back for “John Wick 5.” On deck is “Ballerina,” the Len Wiseman-directed spinoff featuring actress Ana de Armas (“Blade Runner 2049,” “The Gray Man”) playing our newest protagonist, Eve Macarro.

Lionsgate has sent us a final trailer to share, which continues to highlight the action-packed adventure that hopes to expand the world of “John Wick.”

Eve is another orphan taken in by the Ruska Roma (the Belarusian criminal syndicate that had been Wick’s family before retiring) and trained to be a deadly assassin, as she now seeks revenge for the murder of her father.

If you’re a little confused by Reeves showing up in footage, “Ballerina” takes place between the events of “John Wick 3” and “John Wick 4,” giving the studio a little wiggle room to sneak their main man, John Wick, in the new pic.

Joining de Armas in the film will be Anjelica Huston (The matriarch of NYC Ruska Roma, first introduced in “John Wick 4”), Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Reeves’s Wick being teased as an obstacle to Eve’s revenge. We will also see Lance Reddick‘s final performance as Charon, after the late actor sadly passed away in 2023.

Other “John Wick” projects in the works at Lionsgate include a Caine” spinoff that will be directed by action star Donnie Yen (“John Wick 4”), an anime movie covering Wick’s “impossible task,” a new television series that will have Stahelski’s involvement this time, and the mysterious “John Wick 5” after the off-screen “dead” of The Baba Yaga.

Shay Hatten penned the script for “Ballerina” with Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski producing.
