Ben Affleck & Ana De Armas To Star In New Erotic Thriller From 'Fatal Attraction' Director Adrian Lyne

There was a moment in time, namely the ‘80s and ‘90s when director Adrian Lyne was the go-to filmmaker for anything resembling an erotic thriller. After breaking out with “Flashdance,” Lyne went on to direct “9 ½ Weeks,” “Indecent Proposal,” and “Fatal Attraction,” with the latter earning him an Oscar nomination. Then in 2002, Lyne directed the film “Unfaithful. However, in the last 17 years, nothing from Lyne. Well, according to Deadline, that’s all about to change, as the director is stepping back into the erotic thriller genre with a new film with Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas.

The report says that Lyne is attached to the upcoming film “Deep Water,” an erotic thriller with Affleck and de Armas signed on to star. The film is based on a novel by famed author Patricia Highsmith, which is adapted by writers Zack Helm and Sam Levinson.

The film is said to follow a young married couple, played of course by Affleck and de Armas, as their mind game with each other take a dark turn when bodies begin piling up. The couple avoids divorce by allowing each other to take on new lovers. Yep, this sounds about right for a film directed by Lyne.

Affleck is coming off the release of his most recent Netflix film “Triple Frontier.” He also recently signed on to star opposite his buddy Matt Damon in a new film “The Last Duel.” This is all after his recent stint as Batman in the WB/DC films “Batman v. Superman” and “Justice League.”
