Fans of “Star Wars” animated shows were obviously excited when “The Mandalorian” opened the door for live-action incarnations of “Clone Wars” characters like Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano. With Star Wars Celebration in full swing in London, Filoni and Lucasfilm were able to finally share a first-look images as the show is expected to debut this August on Disney+ alongside a trailer as well (See below. The two directors made public that will work on the show include Filoni and Peter Ramsey (“The Mandalorian“), the latter being a co-director on the Oscar-winning animated film “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.”

Dawson most recently portrayed the character in “The Book of Boba Fett” that saw her interacting with Mark Hamill’s digitally de-aged Luke Skywalker and during her scenes in “The Mandalorian” was on the hunt to find Grand Admiral Thrawn, an iconic alien villain from The Empire that first entered “Star Wars” canon in “Rebels.” Speaking of that show, we’ll also see other characters from that animated series with Natasha Liu Bordizzo (“Day Shift“) as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Kate,” “Fargo“) reportedly playing Hera, and Ray Stevenson is set to play a lightsaber-wielding villain (said to be a former Jedi named Baylan) after playing the “Rebels” character Gar Saxon. Voice actor Steve Blum reprised the Zeb role in a live-action cameo, potentially teasing that he could also be part of the cast.

Prequel actor Hayden Christensen is confirmed to reprise the Anakin Skywalker role after appearing as Darth Vader in “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” His return is expected to be a force ghost as Anakin died during the events of “Star Wars: Return of The Jedi” while attempting to save Luke from Emperor Palpatine.
