While I’ll leave it for the Oscar folks to look in the crystal ball and make predictions about the prospects of J.C. Chandor‘s "A Most Violent Year," the only thing you have to know is that it’s a tremendous picture. Our review out of AFI Fest declared that the movie "asks you to watch and listen and pay close attention; it also rewards that investment with subtle, real pleasures and provocations." And now another glimpse of what’s coming can be seen in this new clip.
Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain lead the movie, which is set in 1981 and which as you might guess from the title was not a good time in New York City. The story follows an immigrant chasing the American dream while trying to stay on his own untainted path as the world around him lies in moral squalor. And in this scene, we see Isaac’s character lay out the case the truth is hardest thing to sell in his rising buisness.
"A Most Violent Year" arrives on December 31st. Watch below. [HitFix]
