'Anatomy Of A Scandal' Trailer: Sienna Miller, Michelle Docker & Rupert Friend Star In A New David E. Kelley Sexual Affair Thriller

Television magnate David E. Kelley has the Midas touch. While the writer/producer was king of TV in the ’90s and 2000s (everything from “L.A. Law,” “Alley McBeal,” “Doogie Howser M.D.“). the creator saw a lot of his series in the 2000s, and 2010 get canceled one after another (“Monday Mornings,” “The Crazy Ones,” “The Law Firm”). Other than “Boston Legal,” he really didn’t have many hits for all of the 2000s, unless you’re talking about shows on Network television that barely entered the Emmy or cultural conversation.

That changed big time in 2017 with “Big Little Lies,” his hit HBO series that lured tons of stars like Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon to TV for the first time. Kelley has since tapped Kidman twice to star in HBO’s “The Undoing” and Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers,” another mini-series with an all-star cast. Now he’s got two more big mini-series coming in 2022, HBO’s “Love and Death” with Elizabeth Olsen and “Anatomy Of a Scandal for Netflix, which arrives this spring.

A new psychological thriller based on the internationally bestselling novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan, “Anatomy of A Scandal” premieres on April 15, 2022, on Netflix and stars Sienna Miller (“American Sniper,” “The Loudest Voice”), Michelle Dockery (“The Gentleman,” “Downton Abbey”) and Rupert Friend (“Homeland,” “The French Dispatch”).

The supporting cast includes Naomi Scott (“Aladdin,” “Charlie’s Angels”), Josette Simon (“The Witches”), Geoffrey Streatfeild (“The Other Boleyn Girl”), and Joshua McGuire (“Lovesick”).

“Sex. Power. Privilege. Based on Sarah’s addictive book, the show tackles entitlement, truth, and the boundaries of consent. It’s been a joy to partner with Netflix on this and see SJ bring it to such a rich and nuanced life,” said co-Creators David E. Kelley and Melissa James Gibson in a statement. Here’s the official synopsis:

A psychological thriller and gripping courtroom drama, the series infiltrates Britain’s elite through personal and political scandal, where the truth lies between justice and privilege. James and Sophie Whitehouse live in a blissful and rarified world. A Minister in Parliament, a loving family at home, James’ trajectory appears without limits. Until a scandalous secret suddenly comes to light. Barrister Kate Woodcroft has a trajectory of her own, and her prosecution threatens to tear into Westminster, the Whitehouse marriage, and her own personal esteem.
