In the latest “Aquaman” sequel tease for fans, star Jason Momoa revealed the character’s new, upgraded suit via a slideshow and story posted to the actor’s official Instagram account on Sunday.
The suit, which will be featured in the forthcoming DCEU sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is a dark-blue hue with metallic elements. “Second round. New suit. More action. #aquaman Aloha,” Momoa captioned the photo.
On his own Instagram account, “Aquaman” director James Wan also shared an image of the so-called “stealth suit,” which he notes was inspired by the version seen in comic books during the 1980s.
“Here’s @prideofgypsies in the classic #Aquaman suit AND a sneak peek at his other outfit — the stealth suit,” Wan captioned his post. “Atlantean tech based on cephalopod’s camouflaging ability. David Leslie Johnson and I were inspired by the 80’s ‘blue suit.'”
Momoa and Wan are currently shooting the follow-up, which is slated for release on December 16, 2022. The highly-anticipated sequel to the billion-dollar hit also stars Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Temuera Morrison.
