At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, “Good Time” won the Soundtrack Award, with the music for the gritty crime thriller proving to be one of the most unique and memorable from the festival. Now, thanks to Warp Records, fans of the soundtrack and film will be able to purchase it when it’s released later this summer.
In our review of “Good Time” from the Cannes Film Festival, Jessica Kiang wrote that the film was “magnified by a terrific electro score from Oneohtrix Point Never (aka experimental musician Daniel Lopatin) which is by turns woozy, pulsating, and pounding. All of which reflects the altered-state, accelerating vibe as the night gets longer, the tale gets shaggier, and the bottle blonde Connie has nothing left in the tank but fumes, sour adrenaline, and bad luck.”
“Good Time” stars Robert Pattinson, who plays a criminal that is desperate to get his brother out of jail after a bank robbery gone wrong. The film is directed by up-and-coming directors Ben and Joshua Safdie. They’re best known for “Heaven Knows What,” which is described as a tale of love between heroin addicts. That film went on to win awards at various film festivals in 2014.
“Good Time” was picked up by A24 in October and is set to be released in the US on August 11. Warp Records will release the soundtrack that same day. Check out the artwork and tracklist below. [FACT]
