Anyone who has vaguely followed the career of Tom Hardy knows about his tremendous love for dogs. He has promoted pet adoption, and has himself given rescue dogs a home. Sadly, however, one of his most beloved companions has passed away.

Woody aka Woodstock has died, following complications from polymyositis, an inflammatory muscle disorder. Hardy has hit Tumblr with a lengthy and touching tribute to his best friend, aged only six, who he describes as “…the bestest of journey companions we ever could dream of having. Our souls intertwined forever.”
