Trailers are supposed to build buzz for a film. People watch the footage, get excited about the film, and then, eventually, buy tickets to see the project in theaters or on digital. As seen in the trailer, “Bad Actor” tells the unbelievable true story of aspiring actor Zachary Horwitz. According to the film, Horwitz was so desperate to make it in Hollywood, but unfortunately, he wasn’t very good at acting. So, to land a role in a variety of films, he ran a ponzi scheme that allowed him to pump a ton of money into projects, effectively buying his way onto the cast of the film.
“Bad Actor” is directed by David Darg. The film was chosen as part of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, where it competed in the documentary competition.
