Got a Tip?

Beat Generation Thriller ‘Kill Your Darlings’ Adds Michael C. Hall, Kyra Sedgwick, Ben Foster & Jennifer Jason Leigh

With Walter Salles' adaptation of the most iconic Beat generation work, Jack Kerouac's "On The Road," getting closer to an expected 2012 Croisette premiere, there another project in the works set in same era involving the same characters that's quickly gaining momentum. John Krokidas is set to helm a script he's co-written with Austin Bunn titled "Kill Your Darlings" which is set to star Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg, Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr, Elizabeth Olsen playing Edie Parker and Jack Huston as Kerouac.

With a cast full of up and comers, the project has made a few more additions with the more experienced but equally exciting names in Michael C Hall, Kyra Sedgwick, Ben Foster and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The film will tell the previously untold story of a 1944 murder in Columbia that brought together Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and Williams S. Burroughs — a union that would catalyze the Beat Revolution. Hall will play Burroughs' longtime friend who falls victim to the murder and while there's no word just yet on who Sedgwick and Leigh will portray, Foster is set to take on the role of Burroughs (portrayed in Salles' upcoming "On The Road" by none other than Viggo Mortensen).

Lensing on the project is set to begin lensing in NYC's Columbia University on March 19th. Christine Vachon is producing alongside Michael Benaroya and Rose Ganguzza through their Benaroya Pictures and Rose Pictures while Killer Film's Pamela Koffer executive producing. Inferno Entertainment are repping the project at Berlin as we speak.
