'Bond 25' Officially Given The Title 'No Time To Die'

Thankfully, we don’t have to refer to Daniel Craig’s upcoming final 007 film as “Bond 25” anymore. Instead, the folks behind the superspy franchise have released the title for the film, and it’s about as vague and mysterious as any of the other titles in the long-running franchise.

From this point on, “Bond 25” will now be “No Time to Die.” After previous films with one-word titles like “Spectre” and “Skyfall,” “No Time to Die” harkens back to the long history of Bond films with phrases as titles, such as “Live and Let Die,” “You Only Live Twice,” and “Tomorrow Never Dies.” In fact, now that we look at the titles, Bond really does have an obsession with life and death, huh?

So, does “No Time to Die” actually serve as a hint as to what to expect from the upcoming Cary Fukunaga-directed film? Well, probably, but it’s just so damn vague. We do have some speculation about the film focusing on bio-engineering, with Rami Malek’s villain looking to genetically engineer a new threat to 007. So, maybe the title refers to the fact that there is immortality at play? Or maybe it opens up Craig to have a badass one-liner where he is threatened by Malek and says something about not having time to die? Your guess is probably better than mine.

Here’s the new synopsis:

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

What we do know is that Craig and Malek will be joined by actors Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, and Billy Magnussen in the film. Lynch is actually being rumored to begin the film as the new 007, until Bond comes back into the fold.

We also know that “No Time to Die” will arrive in the UK on April 3, 2020, and in the US on April 8, 2020.
