Lucasfilm and Disney+ just announced the premiere date for the new live-action series, “The Book of Boba Fett.” Debuting on December 29, the spinoff series inspired by “The Mandalorian,” will give “Star Wars” fans something to get excited for around the holiday season this year. The series was first announced at the end of the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian” and will follow Boba Fett and his mercenary partner Fennec Shand as they venture to Tatooine to take back the criminal underworld that was once ruled by the notorious Jabba the Hutt.
Obviously, as we’ve seen with “The Mandalorian,” we can expect some serious action and some surprises along the way, as Lucasfilm loves to pepper in a bit of nostalgia and fan service any chance it can get.
As was hinted at in the brief glimpse during the “Mandalorian” Season 2 finale, “The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. The series is executive produced by many of the same people from ‘Mando,’ including Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson.
“The Book of Baba Fett” arrives on Disney+ on December 29. You can see the poster for the series below.
Here’s the synopsis:
