We’ve said it a million times already, but Brian Cox really has no problem saying exactly how he feels, no matter who might be upset. Most of the time, he’s taking shots at Jeremy Strong or defending someone like Bryan Singer. But he also takes time out occasionally to make sure young people know he doesn’t like them very much either.

Speaking to Piers Morgan recently (video below), Brian Cox talked about “woke culture,” and you probably won’t be surprised to learn that he isn’t a fan of it. Yes, the discussion is really just two older white guys talking about how young people are ruining society, but one of those guys is an award-winning actor, so people will listen, I suppose.
“The whole woke culture is truly awful,” Cox said.
“I don’t know where it comes from. Who are the arbiters of this shaming? And it’s very hard to pin them down, and, it turns out, it’s usually a bunch of millennials,” he added. “I suppose in a way they’re probably saying, ‘Well you’ve all screwed it up so we may as well do something about it.’ But it’s from the wrong principle. It comes from the wrong place.”
Again, it’s not at all shocking to hear Cox say these things. To be fair, he’s not yelling it from the rooftops and acting like a raving maniac like some folks who talk about “woke” things. However, it’s still a bit silly to see an older gentleman like Cox talk about how young people are the bane of his existence. It feels very much in the same vein as “young whippersnappers, get off my yard!”
Perhaps Brian Cox will be happy to know that he recently earned another Emmy nomination for his work in the final season of “Succession.” So, he can’t be angry about that, right?
