That’s what “Bros” has going for it, coming from Universal Pictures early this Fall. Billy Eichner stars in a film with a basic romantic comedy plot–two people with commitment problems try to make a relationship work–except this time around, the “will they, won’t they” dynamic centers on a gay male couple.

Eichner becomes the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio film in “Bros.” Joining him are Luke McFarlane, Ts Madison, Monica Raymond, Guillermo Díaz, Guy Branum, and Amanda BearseBowen Yang, Jim Rash, Harvey Fierstein, and Eve Lindley also star.

Veteran comedic director Nicholas Stoller, of “Neighbors” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” fame, directs the film. He also co-writes the script with Eichner, and co-produces with Judd Apatow and Joshua Church. So, a lot of comedic pedigree on board for this one.

It’s about time gay love hit the Hollywood mainstream, and “Bros” is the frontrunner. Catch the film when it hits theaters everywhere on September 30 from Universal Pictures. Watch the trailer below.
