Completely Unnecessary-Shyamalan Mulls 'Unbreakable' Sequel

The greatest writer/director to ever bless us with his storytelling, M. Night Shyamalan, says he is considering working on a sequel to “Unbreakable,” which in case you were one of the lucky ones who missed it was about a man (Bruce Willis) who finds out that he is like, you know, unbreakable.

Shyamalan commented on the possibility of a sequel with some extremely humble and down to earth quotes “I’m a strange creature. When “Unbreakable” came out, I was like, ‘God, man, I am so excited.’ I thought it was like the comic books. No one has really done comic books like that: reality based. I really think this is a metaphor for things that people go crazy over.” Huh, seriously man? We are pretty sure there was just a mildly popular reality based comic book adaptation that came out this summer, but the name escapes us…

What is worse is that Shyamalan is pursuing a sequel because he is under the belief that people actually liked “Unbreakable.” “People were like, ‘You know, I really like that. That is actually my favorite movie. I watch it all the time.’ and on and on.”

“I want to write it right now, but I want to write it for the right reasons,” Shyamalan said about a possible sequel to his “masterpiece.” We can’t really blame him, when your new work blows as much as “The Happening” you don’t really have anything left to do other than rehash old projects.
