According to Deadline, Pedro Pascal and Chris Hemsworth are attached to star in the new crime thriller, “Crime 101,” based on a novella by Don Winslow. The author is also attached to write, with “American Animals” director Bart Layton on board to helm the feature. The film follows the story of a detective who believes a string of high profile robberies are being done by one man while everyone else believes they’re the work of a cartel.

As you might expect, having Hemsworth and Pascal co-starring in a film is drawing the attention of major studios. The report claims there’s a bidding war going on right now for the rights to the film, with Amazon and Netflix battling it out. Apparently, Amazon has the edge, currently.

Of course, with the SAG and WGA strikes happening right now, it’s unclear what the timeline on “Crime 101” is looking like. No deals can be signed with the actors until the strike is resolved and obviously production can’t begin until after then, as well. But if things come together, as planned, this is definitely one of the most high-profile projects coming in the future.
