‘Daddy’s Home 2’ Trailer: Mel Gibson Is Home For The Holidays

Last year, Mel Gibson was showing — through brutal wartime drama — the path to peaceful, non-violent resistance in “Hacksaw Ridge.” Now, the actor is keeping his grizzled exterior but putting it to comedic use in “Daddy’s Home 2,” which hopes to build off the sleeper success of the first film.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are back as the odd couple co-Dads, with Gibson and John Lithgow filling out the grandparent roles, in the sequel which finds the two very different families of the leading men, coming together for Christmas. Of course, the results are dysfunctional. Here’s the official synopsis:

Father and stepfather Dusty and Brad join forces to make Christmastime perfect for the children. Their newfound partnership soon gets put to the test when Dusty’s old-school, macho dad and Brad’s gentle father arrive to turn the holiday upside down.

Also featuring Linda Cardellini and Alessandra Ambrosio, “Daddy’s Home 2” opens on November 10th.
