It’s been a decade since we stopped hearing the words coming out of the mouths of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the “Rush Hour” franchise. The series was popular, but I didn’t realize it was still a reference point, but apparently “Deadpool 2” will be rolling with that kind of vibe.
“Deadpool” creator Rob Liefeld had a chat with Comic Book at San Diego Comic Con about the upcoming sequel. This time around Ryan Reynolds’ Merc With A Mouth will have Josh Brolin’s Cable alongside him, and apparently, they are going to be quite the incorrigible pair.

“He’s [Reynolds] such a great actor, that’s where it starts, and gravitas, and who else really is going to hold their ground with Ryan as Wade/Deadpool. That is energy unbridled, and so you’ve gotta hold your ground. When I see the two of them I’m like ‘It’s going to be comic book’s equivalent to Rush Hour, and I don’t know if comic fans are ready for it.’ I think it’s going to be great,” he said, doubling down on those comments on social media.
The pairing of Deadpool and Cable has always been a contrast in style and combustible. They have been a buddy cop film pairing!

Again, that’s not quite the comparison we expected to hear, but it’s not exactly surprising that Reynolds and Brolin might spend the entire movie throwing shots at one another.
“Deadpool 2” opens on June 1, 2018.
