‘Frankenstein’: Jacob Elordi Replaces Andrew Garfield In Guillermo Del Toro’s Upcoming Monster Movie With Oscar Isaac & More

It feels like we’ve been talking about Guillermo del Toro’sFrankenstein” for a long time already. From the first rumblings to a confirmed cast, we have covered just about every aspect of this film that is in development. Well, it appears there’s one more bit of a shakeup before the feature finally begins production, and that includes a change at the top of the cast.

According to Variety, Jacob Elordi has been added to the cast of Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein.” The actor is set to replace Andrew Garfield in the lead role as the monster in the film. Elordi joins the cast we already knew about in the film, including Oscar Isaac (playing Victor Frankenstein), Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz

Elordi has been on a tear lately, starring in a number of flashy roles after breaking out in a big way thanks to “Euphoria.” Recently, folks saw him in “Saltburn,” a film which has really entered the cultural zeitgeist over the holiday season, as well as “Priscilla,” where he played Elvis Presley. He’s also in production on Paul Schrader’s newest film, “Oh, Canada.”

Apparently, Elordi was brought in after Garfield had to depart the project due to scheduling conflicts that resulted from the prolonged SAG strike, which threw just about everyone’s schedule into chaos.

In addition to the Elordi news, we found out that Felix Kammerer (“All Quiet on the Western Front”), Lars Mikkelsen (“Ahsoka”), David Bradley (“Pinocchio”), and Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”) have also all joined the cast.

It’s unclear when we might see “Frankenstein” arrive in theaters and on Netflix, but it would appear Guillermo del Toro has secured yet another amazing cast for his next feature.
