While there had been initial reports of a potential reunion between A-listers Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise on Quentin Tarantino’s “The Movie Critic.” When the project morphed into the new Cliff Booth spinoff directed by David Fincher, that pairing of the“Interview With A Vampire” actors likely went out the window.
However, while speaking with E! News at the premiere of “F1,” Pitt sounds open to the hypothetical idea of working with Cruise again. There is a bit of a recent connection to Cruise as his new movie is helmed by “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Obvilion” filmmaker Joseph Kosinski (expected to direct Cruise in “Top Gun 3”), but Pitt has a request: He doesn’t want to be hanging off planes, and the project needs to be a bit more on the ground.

“Well, I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and sh*** like that, so when he does something again that’s on the ground,” Pitt said of his conditions on reteaming with Cruise after praising the action star for kind words for his thrilling racing pic debuting on June 27.
Could we see Brad Pitt take on a military role, not unlike Jon Hamm’s aversaial commanding officer, Vice Admiral Beau “Cyclone” Simpson, in “Top Gun 3” or play himself in Cruise’s Les Grossman pic that will satrize Hollywood’s inner workings?
Perhaps, but there is plenty of time to figure out where the two could find common ground on a film project down the road, but now that the idea is out in the open, there seems to be a genuine interest from audiences for that to happen. Pitt is doing a lot of his own driving in “F1” and harkens back to his time with Cruise racing go-karts while filming “Interview With A Vampire.”
We’ll simply have to be patient to see how that all works out, as both actors have busy schedules and pricey quotes. Then again, Pitt seems very open to the idea of cameos and shares the screen with pals like George Clooney on a regular basis.
