Well, it finally happened: George Lucas has seen “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The man who has been very vocal about his “divorce” from the franchise he created, sat down and watched what J.J. Abrams and company came up with, and his verdict? “He really liked it,” producer Kathleen Kennedy told THR, though Lucas himself has yet to speak publicly about the movie. That said, he is expected to attend the film’s L.A. and London premieres, so we’ll soon get the verdict from the man himself once the red carpet press catches up with him.
But not thing everything is so rosy in the lead up to ‘The Force Awakens,’ with a minor controversy erupting over the Slave Leia action figure that hit store shelves. There’s been some chatter that Disney may no longer make the figure, but Carrie Fisher has an answer to all those Dads who think they won’t be able to explain the context of the character to their impressionable daughters.
“Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn’t like it. And then I took it off. Backstage,” she told The Wall Street Journal, adding that the entire fracas has been “stupid.”
Lastly, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” recently hit the Comic Con Experience in Brazil, where a new featurette was unveiled. You can watch it below, and check out a new poster for Oscar Isaac‘s character, Poe Dameron.
