According to THR, Glen Powell is set to star in a new version of the classic film, “Heaven Can Wait.” The new film is said to be written by Oscar-winning scripter, Stephen Gaghan. While the 1978 film that everyone is familiar with told the story of an ex-football player who dies prematurely and is brought back to life as a recently killed millionaire, the new version is going to keep the body swap aspect but ditch the sports. It’ll still have the same story of a man dying too soon and coming back to Earth.

In addition to the films mentioned above, Powell is already set to star in projects like the upcoming “Twisters,” as well as “Hit Man” and a remake of “The Running Man.” Basically, if you need a handsome male lead for a film, Powell’s name seems to get brought up.

It’s unclear who will direct the film, but it’s likely not going to be difficult to find someone who will want to take on that role. And also, it’s far too soon to know when we might see this film land in theaters.
