Actors Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are no strangers to each other, and they’ve already starred in the action-comedy “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” in 2017. That film didn’t really light up cinema. Still, apparently, it also made enough money, and the two actors liked each other another for the sequel, “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard,” which adds Salma Hayek to the mix and resumes the same antics and story.

Truthfully, the film, directed by Patrick Hughes again, has a huge cast that includes Reynolds, Jackson, Hayek, with Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman, Frank Grillo, Caroline Goodall, Rebecca Front, Gabriella Wright, Alice McMillan, Kristofer Kamiyasu, Tom Hopper, Blake Ritson, and Richard E. Grant. That’s not too shabby, all things considered.

The world’s most lethal odd couple – bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) and hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) – are back on another life-threatening mission. Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek). As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio gets in over their heads in a global plot and soon finds that they are all that stands between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman (Antonio Banderas). Joining in the fun and deadly mayhem is Morgan Freeman as…well, you’ll have to see.
