According to SXSW, “The Idea of You” has been selected as the Closing Night film of this year’s festival. The film stars Anne Hathaway as a 40-year-old single mom who finds herself in a whirlwind romance with a member of a popular boy band. As you might expect, dating a pop star, as well as having a major age gap, could lead to some problems.

Joining Hathaway in the cast are Nicholas Galitzine, Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Annie Mumolo, Raymond Cham Jr., Viktor White, Jaiden Anthony, Dakota Adan, Perry Mattfeld, Mathilda Gianopoulos, and Jordan Aaron Hall. The film is directed by Michael Showalter, who co-wrote the feature with Jennifer Westfeldt. Showalter is probably best known for his acclaimed comedy, “The Big Sick.” Most recently, he directed “Spoiler Alert.”
