'Immaculate': Sydney Sweeney To Reunite With 'The Voyeurs' Director Michael Mohan For Upcoming Psychological Horror Movie

Sydney Sweeney had an epic last calendar year, with star turns in “Euphoria,” “The White Lotus,” “Night Teeth,” and “The Voyeurs.” And she has plenty more on the way, like Sony‘s “Spider-Man” spinoff “Madame Web” and the “Barbarella” remake. Add a reunion with “The Voyeurs” director Michael Mohan to that list, as Deadline reports the pair will reunite for the upcoming horror film “Immaculate.”

Andrew Lobel pens the film’s script about Cecilia, a devout young woman who gets offered a new role at a prestigious Italian convent. However, Cecilia soon realizes her new home harbors dark and terrifying secrets. Production for the project starts in January.

Producer David Bernad developed “Immaculate” for Sweeney after working together on “The White Lotus” last year. He’ll also co-produce the project with Teddy Schwarzman through Black Bear Pictures alongside Sweeney and Jonathan Davino through Fifty-Fifty FilmWill Greenfield serves as co-executive producer with John Friedberg and Christopher Casanova through Black Bear.

“The Voyeurs” was Mohan’s feature directorial debut, which premiered on Prime Video on September 10 last year. In that film, Sweeney and Justice Smith play a couple in Montreal who move into a new apartment and get swept up in a twisty erotic game with their neighbors across the street. Critics didn’t take to it, but the film performed well on the streamer.

With the release of “Madame Web” postponed until February 16, 2024, maybe “Immaculate” will be Sydney Sweeney’s next on-screen appearance. If the film indeed starts shooting in January, that may be a safe bet. Stay tuned for more news about this project.
