According to Deadline, Bravo has signed on to write and direct a new limited series based on Ian Parker’s New Yorker article, “A Suspense Novelist’s Trail of Deceptions,” with none other than Jake Gyllenhaal attached to star. For those not aware, Parker’s story tackles the complex life of writer Dan Mallory, who is best known for his best-selling novel, “The Woman in the Window,” which was written under a pseudonym. Mallory gained headlines after it was revealed that the writer had fabricated multiple things about his personal life, including a bout with cancer and a brain tumor, as well as the deaths of family members and his education at Oxford. Needless to say, with Gyllenhaal in the starring role, this is the type of series that the actor will thrive in.

As mentioned, Bravo is known for her upcoming feature, “Zola,” which is also inspired by real life, but unlike ‘Trail of Deceptions,’ the feature is based on an infamous and legendary Twitter thread about an adventure that two dancers go on in Florida. The film debuted at Sundance and earned immediate acclaim. The film is set to be distributed by A24, though the studio has yet to reveal how it will arrive, whether that be in theaters or VOD.
