'Snow Blind': Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In 'The Guilty' Director's Next Film

Jake Gyllenhaal seems to be one of the rare actors that are willing to take on any type of project, at any time, no matter how busy his slate. He’s coming off a starring role as the villain Mysterio in last year’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” And in that same year, he also starred in Dan Gilroy’s thriller “Velvet Buzzsaw,” and the kids program “The Sack Lunch Bunch.” Needless to say, Gyllenhaal is a tough actor to pigeon-hole. He’s keeping that unpredictability goes with the new film, “Snow Blind.”

According to Deadline, studios are currently bidding for the rights to produce and distribute the upcoming film, “Snow Blind,” which is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name, starring Gyllenhaal and directed by Gustav Möller. The film will tell the story of a young kid that finds out his parents are actually part of witness protection. Deadline says the film is being described as “Prisoners” meets “Running on Empty.”

Gyllenhaal has a busy slate of projects ahead of him. In addition to “Snow Blind,” he’s attached to star in the action-thriller, “The Division,” as well as “Rio” and the TV series, “Lake Success” for HBO. He’s also supposedly starring in a film titled “Helicopter Heist” from the directors of “Free Solo.” IN addition, Gyllenhaal’s production company has a number of projects, including the adaptation of “Fun Home.” Busy guy, right?

Of course, Gyllenhaal is one of the best actors working today, making “Snow Blind,” an instant must-see. But the crew surrounding him is actually incredibly accomplished. Möller is best known for his feature directorial debut, “The Guilty,” which is an acclaimed Danish drama from 2018. Patrick Ness, the writer of “A Monster Calls” and the upcoming “Lord of the Flies” adaptation from director Luca Guadagnino is attached to write the script.
