According to THR, Foxx is set to star in the upcoming film, “Day Shift,” which will be directed by JJ Perry. The film could be summed up as “Daddy Blade,” as the story follows a father of an 8-year-old girl that runs a pool cleaning business that is actually a front for his real career as a vampire hunter. Interestingly, the film is written by Tyler Tice, who was noticed by the producers of “Day Shift” after his script won the Slamdance Writing Competition Grand Prize.

Perry is set to make his directorial debut with the new film. He previously served as a stunt coordinator for a variety of huge action films, such as “The Fate of the Furious,” “Bloodshot,” and the “John Wick” films. Just seeing “John Wick” in his credits and knowing the fact that Chad Stahelski and David Leitch (who helped mold the franchise) are both stunt veterans, you have to assume that Perry is going to transition just fine.
