Although the idea of an “Arrested Development” movie is not a foul one, having to constantly hear about how its “in the works” (especially when there’s not even a first draft) has become extremely tiresome. We reported that a very blunt David Cross told TV Squad that he didn’t think it was going to happen. It makes sense, as there’s been a lot of beating around the bush and non-news about the film in the four years since the show went off the air. It’s about time someone from the show came out straight and told everyone not to get their hopes up.
However, the LA Times spoke with Jason Bateman, who gave fans a pat on the back and told them not to give up. While promoting his new film “The Switch,” Bateman talked about the possibility of an “Arrested Development” movie, saying “David says it’s dead, but it’s not dead at all.” Bateman then goes on to describe the process of making any movie, mentioning that if the script actually gets done, “it goes to the studio and they decide if it’s a script they want to make, and the actors will decide if they want to be in it.” Thanks for the inside scoop.
Jason Bateman’s new impregnation comedy, “The Switch” (formerly known as “The Baster”), co-starring Jennifer Aniston, will be released August 20th, 2010.
