John Cusack will reportedly star in Brad Anderson’s upcoming psychological serial killer picture, “Jack,” described as an “incredibly commercial thriller, laced with tension and suspense.”
Anderson was only just revealed as helmer on the Bold Films production at Cannes where the film was being sold and, with Cusack now on board as well, the project is developing into an interesting platform for Anderson.
“Jack” follows the story of a doctor who falls in love with the presumably titular character (Cusack) who they have been assigned to rehabilitate after an accident. When memories begin to surface of his murderous past though, the man must decide whether to make a new start with his new love or embrace the killer within. Cusack is definitely a left-of-field choice for the role especially as he doesn’t exactly personify the malicious type, though that may be what they’re going for considering the plot.
Shooting will begin on the project this August from a script by David Venable.
