Jude Law Toplines Getaway Driver Flick Penned By ‘Black Rabbit’ Co-Creator Zach Baylin

British actor Jude Law is going to have to start getting his driving skills up to snuff for action pic standards, as he’s set to topline an untitled getaway driver feature film that his Riff Raff Entertainment is going to be involved with. That mysterious but gestating pic will have a script written by “Black Rabbit co-creator Zach Baylin, who had also worked on Law’s recent film, the Neo-Nazi heist thriller, “The Order,” helmed by Justin Kurzel.

Riff Raff Entertainment’s co-founder Ben Jackson (who cooked up the idea with Law during the filming for “The Order”) and head of film and TV Katie Sinclair made the announcement at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival on Tuesday (via Variety), adding that Baylin is working on a new TV series with the production banner as well.

While we weren’t able to get an official synopsis or character information for the pic, Sinclair teased what the audience should expect from the project. “I think it’s really exciting because Jude hasn’t really done action like that before. I think it’s a real example of his range as an actor, but also for us as a company. It moves us into a much bigger scale of project, but it still feels very character-driven and anchored, because Zach and Kate, their writing is so driven by character.” Also, adding that having Law star in the project “sets it apart from other movies in the genre, and so we’re always looking for the best in class, most distinctive version of each genre.”

Baylin’s writing credits include the Will Smith-led Oscar-winning sports drama “King Richard,” the in-development grounded UFO film from director Joseph Kosinski (busy with “Miami Vice ’85“), the Neill Blomkamp movie “Gran Turismo,” wrote “Creed III” that has saw Michael B. Jordan in the director’s chair, Lionsgate‘s remake of “The Crow,” is tackling a series adaptation of “Angel Heart” for A24/HBO, and an upcoming Lance Armstrong biopic that has Austin Butler and Edward Berger attached.

Other things that Law has been involved with in recent years include “Star Wars: Skeleton Key,” playing the alien antagonist in “Captain Marvel,” inhabiting the role of Russian leader Vladimir Putin in “The Wizard of The Kremlin,” and shooting the Nancy Meyers rom-com “Paris Paramount.”

Sadly, a director wasn’t named for this getaway driver flick, so that announcement is going to be made at a later date alongside who they’ll cast alongside Jude Law. Stay tuned.
