The Wrap reports that Keira Knightley is in talks to take the throne in the biopic. The 2014 Black List approved script by Kristina Lauren Anderson tells the story of the rise of Sophia Augusta who takes control of her life, her marriage, and her kingdom, becoming Russia’s most celebrated and beloved monarch: Catherine the Great.
The project marks the second high profile gig Knightley has become involved with, signing on for the lead role in "Colette," earlier this month. No word yet on which project will roll first, but the actress’ schedule is looking to become quite busy.
