Earlier today, we shared some comments from Joe Manganiello about his difficulties landing in a DC superhero film that actually gets made, after being part of the proposed cast for a few different features. Well, actress Kiersey Clemons is in a similar boat, having been attached to the DC film universe for a while now but not yet showing up. Well, it appears she’s going to get her chance to be part of the DCEU canon in the upcoming “Flash” film.

According to THR, Clemons is the latest actor to join Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and the recently announced Sasha Calle in the upcoming “The Flash,” directed by Andy Muschietti. In the film, Clemons is set to play Iris West, the love interest of Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), aka The Flash. Though it’s news that she’s taking part in “The Flash,” this isn’t Clemon’s first time in the role of Iris West.
Originally, Clemons was cast years ago when Zack Snyder was filming “Justice League,” with the actress portraying Iris West in the film. However, when Snyder left and Joss Whedon took over, Clemon’s appearance was cut from the film. That said, it does appear that Clemons will actually show up in the upcoming “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” which hits HBO Max next week. And even if that film isn’t necessarily considered DCEU canon anymore, Clemons is still going to continue her role in Muschietti’s ‘Flash’ film.

Clemons is probably best known for her role in the 2015 film “Dope.” Since then, she’s shown up in projects such as “Sweetheart,” “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” “Hearts Beat Loud,” and the TV series, “Easy.”
“The Flash” is expected to begin production later this year, with a November 4, 2022 release date penciled in (for now).
