Two-time Oscar nominee John Lithgow is joining the cast of Martin Scorsese’s American Western crime drama film “Killers Of The Flower Moon.” The film has been shooting since May of this year but keeps adding members to its cast. Last week Brendan Fraser was revealed to be part of the ensemble, set in 1920s Oklahoma, and based on the David Grann best-seller, which depicts a string of brutal crimes— the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation— that came to be known as the Reign of Terror. Lithgow will play Prosecutor Leaward, and he’s coming off a great performance in HBO’s “Perry Mason” as a defense attorney.
“Killer Of The Flower Moon” stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, and Lily Gladstone. The film marks the sixth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio and the tenth collaboration between Scorsese and De Niro.
“Killers Of The Flower Moon” also stars William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Jason Isbell, musician Sturgill Simpson, Tantoo Cardinal, Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Tatanka Means, Pat Healy, Scott Shepherd and more.
Eric Roth adapted the screenplay, Jack Fisk is the production designer, and Rodrigo Prieto is the director of photography and the always, ever-present Thelma Schoonmaker as editor.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:

“Killers Of The Flower Moon” is not expected until 2022. It has a costly $200 million price tag, and so AppleTV will surely roll out the red carpet for it next year. That means probably saving it for the fall film festival circuit next year.
