Kristen Stewart Says She's Currently Writing A "Really F*cking Stupid" Stoner Comedy

Kristen Stewart is a very busy actor, right now. Not only is she starring in upcoming films such as “Love Lies Bleeding,” “Sacramento,” and the just-announced “Rosebushpruning,” but she’s also still deep in development on her feature film directorial debut, “The Chronology of Water.” But apparently, through all of this, she’s finding time to co-write a stoner comedy.

In a new Interview magazine conversation with Rachel Sennott, Kristen Stewart teased a new project she’s working on alongside her real-life partner, Dylan Meyer. While she doesn’t go into a lot of detail about the exact plot, it does sound as if the film is a bit of a departure for the typically-dramatic actor.

“Me and Dylan are writing a movie. It’s a stoner girl comedy, and it’s really fucking stupid,” said Stewart. “But the reason I even thought of this is because our producer is our best friend. We’re starting a company. I’ve worked with so many people that I didn’t know and that I didn’t like for so long. It was definitely valuable, but also, fuck that.”

As mentioned, in recent years, Stewart has mostly stayed in dramas with films such as “Spencer,” “Seberg,” and “Crimes of the Future.” That said, she does occasionally like to venture out with studio films such as “Happiest Season,” “Underwater,” and “Charlie’s Angels.” But a “stoner girl comedy” seems like a new genre for the acclaimed performer to work in.

Of course, saying that she’s working on a script right now doesn’t mean the film is close to production. She’s likely still going to do “The Chronology of Water” before the comedy, as she has been developing it for years and seems very passionate about the project. However, if the stoner comedy does come to fruition, it will be interesting to see Stewart work on a project that seems very outside of her wheelhouse.
