The video serves as a triptych music video for three songs of the band’s new album, “$20,” “Emily I’m Sorry,” and “True Blue.” Each song/sequence stars one bandmate in particular. The first stars Julien Baker as she roams around a rural home and works on a beat-up car. Next, “Emily I’m Sorry” sees Phoebe Bridgers in a monster truck arena as the gigantic vehicles fly around the dirt pit. Next, Lucy Dacus paint her entire house blue and moves in all-blue furniture with the help of her bandmates.

Baker, Bridgers, and Dacus announced “The Record” in January, boygenius’s follow-up to their 2018 EP. They’ll hit the road for a tour next, with stops at Coachella, as part of the Re:Set concert tour, and other dates in North America.
