Mackenzie Davis And Linda Hamilton Look Ready To Kill Cyborgs In 'Terminator' First Look

The ‘Terminator‘ franchise has burned us before. The first two films, directed by James Cameron, are both classics, with ‘T2’ generally regarded as one of the greatest action films of all time. But since then the decline in quality for the ‘Terminator’ films has been steep.

The low-mark might be the most recent entry, “Terminator: Genisys,” which hoped to reboot the franchise. Needless to say, it didn’t. And not only that, but we’re getting a new reboot/sequel next year, and this time everyone involved says it’s going to finally return the franchise to its former glory. And judging by the first look at some of the characters, it looks like the filmmakers involved are on the right path.

In the first official look at the untitled sequel, we finally get a clear look at Mackenzie Davis, Linda Hamilton, and Natalia Reyes, who are by all accounts our three protagonists for the film. Not much is known about the story, other than Hamilton’s Sarah Connor finally returns to the franchise that she helped create. Joining an older Conner is Davis’ Grace and Reyes’ Dani Ramos. And not in the picture, but confirmed to be part of the cast, is the franchise’s biggest name — Arnold Schwarzenegger.

As for the newcomers, Davis is coming off a starring role in Jason Reitman’s recent film “Tully,” as well as breakout roles in “Halt and Catch Fire” and “Izzy Gets the Fuck Across Town.” Natalia Reyes, on the other hand, has yet to score a major role in a US film before the untitled “Terminator” sequel. She’s been a star in her native Colombia, and most recently starred in “Birds of Passage,” which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Deadpool” filmmaker Tim Miller has taken the reins as director of this upcoming film. And joining Davis, Hamilton, and Reyes in the cast are Gabriel Luna and Diego Boneta.

We still have quite a ways to go before we see the film in theaters, as the release date is November 22, 2019.
