Mark Ruffalo Confirmed For 'She-Hulk,' Don Cheadle Will Play War Machine In New 'Armor Wars' Series

The upcoming “She-Hulk” series directed by Kat Coiro had casting confirmations made by Kevin Feige tonight at the Disney Investors Day. Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany will be playing Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk, in the Disney+ along returning MCU actors Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth. The latter plays the villainous Abomination from Louis Lettier’s “The Incredible Hulk” that starred Ed Norton as Bruce Banner.

She-Hulk” will focus on Walters, who is a defense lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases, and eventually a six-foot-seven hulking heroine. Previous reports have pointed towards a March production start in Atlanta, Georgia.

The addition of Tim Roth’s Abomination will certainly have fan speculating about the formation of the Hulk bad-guys Thunderbolts superteam sooner than expected. And lastly, Kevin Feige made a little tease about lawyers, superheroes, and who Jennifer Walters may cross paths with. It was an obvious reference to Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. Rumors are already afoot that Charlie Cox is reprising his role as “Daredevil” from the Netflix series as Murdock. Those reports are unsubstantiated so far, but Feige was clearly teasing the character.

“She-Hulk,” is being described as a “comedy series” Anu Valia directs the series along with the previously-announced Coiro; Jessica Gao is head writer.

Additionally, a new, unexpected show was announced. Fans had been demanding that Don Cheadle finally get his own War Machine project after the previous talk of a solo film that goes back to the days of promotion for “Iron Man 2” seemed to disappear. But it will be coming in the form of a Disney+ series titled “Armor Wars.” The series will focus on what happens when Tony Stark’s advanced technology gets into the wrong hands. Seeing Rhodey move out of the shadow of Iron Man is heartwarming.

It’s unclear when “Armor Wars” will begin shooting, but we can only assume to due to the backlog of productions, a start in late 2021 or early 2022 could happen. There are plenty of unused Iron Man villains that could be explored in this War Machine series.
