'May December' Teaser: Natalie Portman & Julianne Moore Star In Todd Haynes' Acclaimed Film

Sure, we’re knee-deep in fall film festival time, as we transition from Venice to TIFF and plan ahead for Telluride, NYFF, and the rest, but we can’t forget about those standout films from the festivals earlier this year. One of those films is Todd Haynes’ upcoming “May December.”

While the new teaser for “May December” doesn’t really tell you much about the plot, it does show you how well received Todd Haynes’ film was when it debuted at this year’s Cannes. The film follows the story of an actress who embeds herself in the lives of a married couple that found themselves part of sordid tabloid articles when they first started dating due to the age difference.

The film stars Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, and Charles Melton. As mentioned, the film is directed by Haynes with a script written by Samy Burch. The film did debut at this year’s Cannes, and in our review, we applauded the filmmaker’s “masterly manipulation of tone and perspective” and commended the work of all three leads, especially Melton, who previously was best known for his stint on “Riverdale.”

“May December” has already been selected to open the New York Film Festival later this fall. The film arrives in select theaters on November 17 before hitting Netflix on December 1. You can watch the new teaser below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Twenty years after their notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation, a married couple (Julianne Moore, Charles Melton) buckles under the pressure when an actress (Natalie Portman) arrives to do research for a film about their past.
