It’s been almost half a year since Netflix’s big flex. At the beginning of this year, the streamer unveiled its big 2022 teaser video, highlighting many of their upcoming films. Now that we’re almost at the beginning of summer, the company has unveiled its summer line-up: 36 films between May and August, with a cherry on top of Labor Day and September 1.
The highlights are many, but a lot of them you already knew about. Probably first and foremost is the Russo Brothers’ “The Gray Man” starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and more. The film unveiled first look photos yesterday and announced its release rollout schedule: a limited theatrical run starting July 15 and then debuting on Netflix shortly thereafter on July 22. Another big title we’re anticipating is “Spiderhead” starring Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Oblivion”), the movie will be the filmmaker’s second film of 2022 as he already has the long-delayed, “Top Gun: Maverick” coming out in May and debuting at Cannes.
Other titles of note include the Jennifer Lopez documentary “Half Time” which will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival later this year and “Hustle,” the new basketball drama starring Adam Sandler and Queen Latifah due on Netflix on June 8.
A brand new highlight is “Me Time,” a comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart, and “Day Shift” starring Jamie Foxx, both coming out later in the summer. There are many more highlights, but you can see the whole list below, plus any trailers and images that have been released so far.
