Here is the new trailer and poster for Luca Guadagnino’s “I Am Love” starring Tilda Swinton, courtesy of the Guardian.
As evident in the poster, “I Am Love” centers on Swinton’s matriarchal protagonist as she is caught between her wealthy industrial Italian household, the Recchis, and a forbidden love affair with a young cook which threatens to turn her affluent family upside-down.
The film has already done well on the international festival circuit, drawing praise from reviewers who describe it as an “intriguing delight” that is “beautifully performed” and a “modern melodrama, both sweeping and constrained, that blooms slowly.” One particular aspect which has attracted much acclaim is the score by acclaimed minimalist musician John Adams.
Guadagnino has even already discussed a potential reunion with Swinton on a remake 1958 Rosalind Russell-starrer “Auntie Mame,” which he describes as “rock-n-roll, super funny, super mainstream movie.”
“I Am Love,” or “Io sono l’amore,” is slated for a June 18th limited release.
