'Snowpiercer' Season 3 Trailer: Sci-Fi Series Returns January 24

Snowpiercer” was a breakout sci-fi comic book film from future Oscar-winner Bong Joon Ho (“Parasite”) and eventually got turned into a prequel series at TNT, it’s now about to debut its third season, and a brand new trailer (see below) has dropped teasing a bit of hope for the show’s characters. They’ve been riding around a desolate frozen planet trying to survive in this brutal post-apocalypse setting on a highly advanced train meant to keep the remaining human population alive.

Things are starting to get a bit complicated as New Eden and various places on Earth are warming up, giving characters reason to consider finding ways to get to a warmer climate allowing them to start a new human civilization outside the tyranny and violence of Mr. Wilford.

The show’s cast consists of Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Archie Panjabi, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Mike O’Malley, Chelsea Harris, and Steven Ogg.

The latest season will debut on TNT starting on January 24, 2022.

WarnerMedia is already moving forward with a season four, as announced over the summer, so fans should be aware that the story will continue beyond these upcoming episodes that will begin airing on TNT next month. However, it’s not entirely clear who will make it out alive and be back for this fourth season.

Having film actors like Diggs, Bean, and Jennifer Connelly involved might suggest they may stick around a little longer for the sake of those names continuing to be attached to the show for marketing purposes.

Here’s how TNT describes season three of “Snowpiercer”:

“Season three picks up with Layton (Diggs) and his inner circle commanding a small ten car “pirate train” in search of Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) and a possible warm location to restart civilization; while back on Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) is consolidating.”
