'The Old Guard' Trailer: Charlize Theron Explains Immortality In New Footage From Netflix's Action Film

Thanks to films like “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Atomic Blonde,” Charlize Theron has positioned herself as one of the most badass actresses in action films today. And she hopes to keep that trend going with the upcoming Netflix action film, “The Old Guard.”

As seen in the new trailer for the film, “The Old Guard” follows Theron as the leader of a mysterious group of immortal mercenaries that has stayed under the radar for hundreds of years. However, that’s all about to change after a new soldier joins their ranks and they have to fight a man that is attempting to capture them and figure out how to replicate their power.

Joining Theron in the cast are KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Van Veronica Ngo, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. “The Old Guard” marks a distinct change for Prince-Bythewood. Previous to this action film, she was probably best known for her dramas such as “Love & Basketball,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” and “Beyond the Lights.”

“The Old Guard” arrives on Netflix on July 10.
