‘Once Upon A Time’ Actor Confirms Talks Between Tarantino & Netflix About Releasing 4-Hour Cut Of The Film As A Series

Just yesterday, a rumor popped up that Quentin Tarantino already has a plan to release an extended version of his new film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” as a Netflix miniseries sometime in the future. However, now, thanks to an actor that has a role in the film, it appears that this is more than a rumor and is in fact something that will likely happen.

Speaking on the podcast, The Mutuals, actor Nicholas Hammond, who plays Sam Wanamaker in Tarantino’s latest film, revealed that there is in fact a longer version of the film coming to Netflix and that he’s, obviously, excited to see some of the actors who got cut returning in the new version.

“It’s a thrilling experience, and it’s the best I had in my life,” said Hammond about his time in ‘Once Upon a Time.’

The actor is also very happy with how his role turned out but teases that there’s likely going to be an extended version coming to Netflix, as was rumored recently. Hammond basically confirms that talks are going on, and that there is plenty of footage that can pad out the run-time even more.

“There is talk about there being a 4-hour Netflix version, as well, because there were a lot of scenes he shot that couldn’t make it into the film because there just simply wasn’t room,” the actor revealed.

He added, “The promise is that like his other film, ‘The Hateful Eight,’ they just done a 4-hour Netflix version. And I think they’re talking about doing the same. There are some actors like Tim Roth, wonderful actors, who never even made it into the film. I mean, they’re entire roles got cut…The Netflix version will be great too.”

As we said yesterday, when the rumor first popped up, the idea that this 4-hour cut of ‘Once Upon a Time’ is coming anytime soon is a bit far-fetched. Clearly, the film will have a long theatrical run, then find its way on home release. And like “The Hateful Eight,” it could be a very long time before the extended version finds its home on the streaming service.

Until then, you can still enjoy the almost-three-hour cut of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in theaters now.
