“Only The Brave” — formerly known by the much better title, “Granite Mountain Hotshots” — is definitely a movie that’s coming out, even if we keep forgetting that it’s coming out. Again, maybe that bland title is helping it slip from our memory. But Sony Pictures is here to remind you one last time that the firefighting drama will be landing in cinemas later this month.
Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, James Badge Dale, Taylor Kitsch, and Jennifer Connelly all star in the Joseph Kosinski (“Tron: Legacy,” “Oblivion“) directed drama about an elite group of firefighters, who put their lives on the line to fight the most dangerous blazes out there. Here’s the official synopsis:
All men are created equal… then, a few become firefighters. Only the Brave, based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, is the heroic story of one unit of local firefighters that through hope, determination, sacrifice, and the drive to protect families, communities, and our country become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the country. As most of us run from danger, they run toward it – they watch over our lives, our homes, everything we hold dear, as they forge a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a firefighter movie, so we’ll see how this one turns out. If we don’t forget about it again. “Only The Brave” opens on October 20th.
