Got a Tip?

Paul Rudd, An iPad & A Toilet: It’s The Poster For ‘This Is 40’ Plus A New Image From The Film

nullWhen Judd Apatow's "This Is 40" was first announced, it was described as not a sequel to "Knocked Up" by Universal, even though the film is clearly a look at the lives of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) a few years after the events of that film. Now the new poster (like the recent trailer) plays with that tag, describing the film as the "sort-of sequel to 'Knocked Up'. " Nice wink at that original claim, Uni.

The poster gives us a vibe not that much different from the one evinced in the trailer. Pete's on the crapper with his iPad and Debbie is brushing her teeth thinking, "WTF, can't we preserve some mystery to our relationship?" Seems like that's going to be the general theme to the picture, which is frankly fine by us. We will admit, we will be curious to see how they explain the absence of Ben (Seth Rogen) and Alison (Katherine Heigl). Are they on vacation somewhere? The romantic in us admits we will be crushed if it's revealed they're not together. But according to some recent interviews with Apatow, they may not be alluded to at all. The mystery deepens…

Jason Segel and Charlyne Yi return from the original cast while the rest of the crew are newcomers including Megan Fox, Melissa McCarthy, Lena Dunham, Chris O'Dowd, Albert Brooks and John Lithgow. And in case you forgot, Jon Brion wrote the score as well. "This Is 40" arrives on December 21st. [via Screencrush]

Poster removed at the behest of Universal Pictures.
