After much hype, ‘Rebel Moon’ debuted on Netflix just how we all expected it. A lot of people watched. Critics didn’t love it. Zack Snyder fans ate it up. But a lot of the talk, even from the beginning, was about the director’s cuts of the two films. And now, months later, we get them.
As seen in the trailer, the two ‘Rebel Moon’ director’s cuts—titled ‘Chalice of Blood’ and ‘Curse of Forgiveness’ respectively—seem to be a lot of what we saw in the original cuts, but with more Snyder-istic tendencies. There’s more blood. There’s more sex. There’s just more Snyder-ness. And much like the original cuts, these new director’s cuts seem to be aimed directly at his own loyal fanbase.
The ensemble cast includes Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Staz Nair, Fra Fee, Cleopatra Coleman, Stuart Martin, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Alfonso Herrera, Cary Elwes, Rhian Rees, Elise Duffy, Jena Malone, Sky Yang, Charlotte Maggi, and Corey Stoll.
