'Red Sonja' Film Put On Hold Due To Allegations Against Director Bryan Singer

For now, Millennium Films is putting their newest film “Red Sonja” due to the alleged misconduct of their director Bryan Singer, though they haven’t kicked him off the movie itself yet.

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, so many powerful men in Hollywood are now exposed, and still more accusations are coming to light. Singer is probably best known for his big-budget superhero films like “X-Men,” “X-Men: First Class,” “Superman Returns,” and so many others. Most recently, he gained critical acclaim for recent Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

He is known mostly for directing and producing, but now there will always be some who know him for allegedly sexually assaulting minors, particularly men after a tell-all article was published in the Atlantic. However, the CEO of Millennium Films, the studio behind Singer’s latest “Red Sonja,” stands by their director in a recent THR report. Avi Lerner called the article detailing Singer’s misconduct as “agenda driven fake news.”

However, despite Singer still on as director, “Red Sonja” has been put on hold. A comic book heroine from Marvel comics, Red Sonja is known for her sword and sorcery world, her fighting skills, and her barely-there chainmail armor. Now, the movie that was expected to start filming this year Bulgaria is on the backburner indefinitely, with no cast to speak of and only an accused director to its name.
